Grace O’Malley is a talented 26-year-old soprano hailing from Lancashire. Recently, she completed her Artist Diploma at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied under the esteemed Yvonne Kenny. A proud graduate of the Royal College of Music, Grace holds both a Bachelor of Music (BMus) and a Master of Performance (MPerf) degree, having studied with Peter Savidge.
Grace’s musical journey began at the age of six when she first started singing lessons. By eight, she was a chorister at Manchester Cathedral and attended Chetham’s School of Music. At ten, she transitioned to the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, where she honed her craft for eight years under the guidance of Linda Richardson. In 2012, she was awarded the gold medal at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.

Opera (scene) roles include Alcina and Morgana from Handel’s Alcina, Romilda from Serses and Smetana’s Marenka from The Bartered Bride, Serpina from Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona and May Rosebud from Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore, Sandrina from Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera at the Royal College of Music. Additionally, she performed as Susanna in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and Miss Wordsworth in Britten’s Albert Herring at the Oxenfoord Summer Course. At Guildhall, she showcased her talent as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Avis in Ethel Smyth’s The Wreckers, and Anna Reich in Nicolai’s Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor.
Grace is equally passionate about song, having performed at the Oxford Lieder Festival 2021 as part of a prestigious masterclass led by Joan Rodgers and Julius Drake. She is particularly committed to promoting works by female composers. Grace has participated in masterclasses with notable artists including Sarah Connolly, Helmut Deutsch, and Ann Murray.

Grace made her mark at The Grange Festival in 2022, performing the Soprano Apparition in Verdi’s Macbeth and participating in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Yeoman of the Guard. She returned for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, covering the role of Masha in Tchaikovsky’s Queen of Spades, singing in the chorus of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and contributing to Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress and Puccini’s Tosca. She also covered the role of Drusilla in Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea.
